As a founder and Executive Chef at Sattvik Foods®, I possess the culture and passion for food. I was born and raised in Kenya, Africa. From an early age, I enjoyed creating food to please my friends and family. When I got older, I traveled the world in search of culture and healthy and unique ingredients. My parents and sisters were my biggest inspiration for my journey. They guided me into my passion for food.

I began my food career as a restaurant owner and caterer in San Diego in 1995. Owning and managing a restaurant on a day-to-day basis was an experience! I used that opportunity to create and develop my own signature dishes. I embedded my African style of cooking to fuse with the Asian culture and some American influences to create flavorful masterpieces. After successfully running a profitable restaurant for 14 years, I decided to explore a more intimate level of cooking.

My mother and sisters were my biggest inspiration towards my journey, they guided me into my passion for food.

In 2011, I founded my company Cooking 4U. I offered Personal Chef Services and cooking classes to clients throughout San Diego. The pace was slower, which gave me more time and satisfaction to serve my clients on a personal level and learn different styles of cooking.

Outside of my culinary career, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, listening to music, reading, socializing, and volunteering. I also love taking my dog Coco to the beach and the dog park.
